Gulping down tears, Injo goes to Samjeondo to conclude a pact for the relations of sovereign and subject. The man in white bows low to the ground before the emperor to demonstrate submission as a subject. He beats his head against the ground with his forehead bleeding.
The two sons of the King are taken hostage by the order of Hong Taiji.
This is called the 'Humiliation of Samjeondo.
I remember I tried to memorize it in junior high for a test.
Historically Injo never used a word of surrender.
