Da-hae pleads with Gwi-ju not to travel back 13 years to save her, saying she doesn't want to be saved.
Gwi-ju: "Who said I'm going right now? We'll live happily together for a long time, and when I-na grows up... no, we'll wait until I-na has kids, and those kids get married."
The next day, Gwi-ju meets Il-hong and tells her that Da-hae didn't run away from her, but from himself.
Gwi-ju: "I will save Da-hae and be dead. She disappeared to save me. I risked my life. I will risk my life to protect Da-hae. So from now on, anyone who tries to mess with Da-hae will have to risk their life."
Da-hae apologizes for her failed scam, but Man-heum says she's grateful because it shows how far Da-hae is willing to go for Gwi-ju.
Da-hae: "It's not over yet. I'll find another way."
She tells Man-heum that the person who saved her had a birthmark on the back of his neck and asks her to find clues in her dreams.
Dong-hee asks Gwi-ju if he saved Da-hae because of their mother's dream or if it was his choice. She shares how Man-heum's prophetic dream stopped her from continuing her modeling career and led to her obsession with food, advising Gwi-ju not to be trapped by dreams and that the future can be changed.
Man-heum dreams of Dong-hee crying miserably with a disheveled woman in her newlywed home but can't bring herself to tell her, fearing it would ruin her wedding. She believes her dreams are a curse that has driven her children into hell and wishes she would never dream again. Both I-na and Man-heum feel regret and sorrow over their abilities.
Da-hae catches Dong-hee's fiancé cheating and blackmails him with the photos, demanding an unmanageable amount of money to stop the wedding. Dong-hee realizes she doesn't love her fiancé despite getting the wedding she wanted, thanks to Gwi-ju's advice.
The fiancé gets caught in a trap set by Da-hae and Grace, being caught cheating the night before the wedding. During a scuffle over the money Da-hae received from the fiancé, Grace accidentally falls out of a window. In that moment, Dong-hee, recalling happier times, heroically saves Grace. Seeing this, Da-hae realizes that Man-heum's dream isn't the whole picture. The dream helped change Dong-hee's future. Da-hae asks Man-heum not to be afraid and to dream again.
Man-heum: "It's not the dream but the interpretation..."
Da-hae: "You can't change the dream, but you can choose how to accept it."
Watching his parents' happy past, Gwi-ju sees young Da-hae being teased by friends for being unable to ride a bike. He helped her to ride, and in the process, gets a plant rash on his neck. Back in the present, Gwi-ju notices a birthmark has appeared on his neck.
