Rediscovering Abilities and Opening Hearts
The second episode begins with a young version of Bok Gwi-ju (Jang Ki-yong) realizing his superhuman abilities. However, he feels frustrated because he can’t change the repetitive past despite his newfound power.
Back in the present, Do Da-hae (Chun Woo-hee) intentionally approaches Gwi-ju while he’s choosing a gift for his daughter, Bok I-na (Park So-yi), at the department store. Da-hae notices that the doll Gwi-ju picked out for his daughter isn’t age-appropriate.
Although Gwi-ju maintains a cold attitude toward Da-hae, she insists on helping him choose a better gift for I-na. Despite her kindness, Gwi-ju abruptly leaves, only giving her money for the present.
Suddenly, a fire alarm goes off in the department store, causing panic. Da-hae falls, but Gwi-ju appears and helps her up.
Later, Bok Man-heum (Go Doo-shim) shows Da-hae a building she plans to give her as a wedding gift. However, Da-hae says it’s too soon for marriage.
Meanwhile, Bok Dong-hee (Claudia Kim), unsettled by Da-hae's appearance, visits her boyfriend, who runs a hospital, and urges him to get married. However, her boyfriend avoided giving a direct answer about marriage, making excuses here and there. Deeply hurt, Dong-hee started running on the treadmill until late at night. Hyperventilating, she fell off the treadmill and lay on the floor, sobbing.
On the other hand, Man-heum arranges another meeting between Da-hae and her son. They all end up drinking together, and Gwi-ju gets quite drunk. When Da-hae receives a call from I-na, who’s being chased by a suspicious man, Gwi-ju rushes to help. The suspicious man turns out to be Da-hae’s accomplice.
Afterward, Da-hae encountered I-na coming out of the restroom and listened to her entire story. Da-hae sensed that the girl was troubled by her first menstrual period and offered her assistance. She covered I-na's skirt with her cardigan.
Touched by Da-hae's actions, Gwi-ju suggested drinks again. Da-hae tied his injured hand with a tissue and smiled, saying, "You already did something for me. You held my hand warmly."
Gwi-ju retorted, "Why are you lying like that? Where and when did I do that?" Da-hae replied, "At the shopping mall. When the fire alarm went off. We didn't sleep together, so what's the big deal about holding hands? Maybe it was you from the future who held my hand. You said you can time travel to the past. You said you can go back to happy times."
Upon hearing that Gwi-ju couldn't go back, Da-hae wondered if recovering from depression would allow him to travel back in time. She confessed, "Actually, I think I can go back in time too. Looking at I-na, I think of myself when I was younger. I didn't have a mother either. My dad was always drunk and I was alone. I grew up strong, but now that I'm an adult, I keep returning to being that lonely little kid whenever I see I-na. I can understand your mother's feelings. The little girl needs someone."
Gwi-ju responded, "The bunny doll I gave I-na When she was little, I couldn't be there for her much. I gave her that doll as a promise to protect her in my place. But I'm still not there for her because I'm like this, so I gave it to her. But I found that she threw them in the trash. I-na needs someone to be there for her instead of me. But then I'm worried that I'll throw your life in the trash. So stay away. I don't want to hold you back."
Despite Gwi-ju's words, Da-hae grabbed his hand and said, "You already held my hand back then. We did." Gwi-ju returned home and pondered Da-hae's words. When he opened his eyes again, he returned to the department store scene.
Finally, he stands in the shopping mall during the fire alarm, holding Da-hae’s fallen hand—confirmation that his psychic abilities have returned. Only then did Gwi-ju realize that he had not only regained his lost superpower but had also held Da-hae's hand in the past, unlike before. He was overwhelmed by shock.
