Jo Yeo Jung (Kim Min Seo) tells Princess Jeongmyeong (Lee Yeon Hee) that Eun Seul (Hyun Seung Min) and her mother were taken into Podocheong due to superstitious things including a voodoo doll and Jeongmyeong realizes that she has fallen into the crafty persons' trap. A mean grin comes to the outspoken court lady's lips.
Kim Ja Jeom (Jo Min Ki) severely condemns the hasty action of Yeo Jung, however, he sighs deeply at the direct order from King Injo (Kim Jae Won).

Injo assumes an air of concern about the Princess and induces chief retainers to insist to punish the traitor without mercy.
Kang Joo Sun (Jo Sung Ha) hears the whole story from Kim Ja Jeom and he wants Kang In Woo (Han Joo Wan) out of the affair if his son still loves the royal lady. In Woo says decisively that his resolve will not falter.

Hong Joo Won (Seo Kang Joon) and his father try to find any evidence to prove her innocence and Yi Won Ik (Kim Chang Wan), a prime minister, earnestly requests for further fact-finding.
Queen Inmok (Shin Eun Jung) persuades her daughter to beg for the King's forgiveness but she refuses flatly saying that she will fight against injustice.       
Choi Myeong Gil (Im Ho) who comes to examine the criminal gives a firm promise to find a way to help her, expressing his thanks for not discovering himself.

Several Hullyeondogam workers go to a house of the police chief to find any evidence in the face of danger under a cloak of collecting soil samples. However, they are arrested for holding a letter from Jo Yeo Jung before they leave the house.       
Injo urges the Princess in Uigeumbu (the judiciary organ during Goryeo and Joseon dynasty) but Jeongmyeong advises him to have dignity as a leader of the country. 
Meanwhile, a eunuch, one of the conspirators, is tormented by a guilty conscience.

The innocent servants never make a false confession despite brutal tortures. They are on the point of being seared with a hot iron, Jeongmyeong shows herself and admits guilt looking at devoted mother and daughter with tears in her eyes to spare their lives.
