Chinese chef Lee Yeon Bok's Wansojjamppong

(Spicy Chinese-style noodles with shrimp balls and vegetables)

● Ingredients

Octopus, Button mushroom, Shrimp, Kalguksu (handmade chopped noodles),

Egg, Chili, Onion, Garlic, Green onion, Starch, Soy Sauce, Chili powder

● Directions

1. Cut the octopus into bite-sized.

2. Slice chili, onion, green onion, button mushroom and smash garlic with the side of a knife.

3. Peel headless shrimps and mince them.

4. Boil the noodles.

5. Stir-fry sliced chili and green onion with soy sauce.

6. Stir-fry the other sliced vegetables with chili powder and add pot liquor (broth in which noodles have been cooked).

*Usually pot liquor is the broth in which meat, esp pork or bacon,

and vegetables have been cooked

7. Add the bite-sized octopus and boil the soup.

8. Mix minced shrimp, starch water, egg to make shrimp balls.

(Dissolve starch in water.)

9. Add shrimp balls into boiling spicy soup.

10. Rinse the cooked noodles with cold water, hot water, and cold water.

11. Add drained noodles to boiling spicy shrimp soup.
