'Mask' Episode 20 Recap

Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae) shaves Choi Min Woo (Ju Ji Hoon) before she gives herself up to the police. She doesn't budge from her firm resolution no matter his persuasion.

Choi Mi Yeon (Yoo In Young) fails in persuasion to have Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon) to confess himself to be guilty to clear his stepbrother of false accusation.
Min Woo deliberately asks his sister's husband for help and the lawyer grants his request thinking of devising a scheme which will completely corner him up.   

When Ji Sook gets out of her family's house after saying goodbye, Mi Yeon is waiting for her. She who cannot rid herself of guilt sorrowfully confesses that Seo Eun Ha (Soo Ae) was drowned to death due to her. She goes to visit her brother and apologizes for her fault before a special conference is held.

Seok Hoon brands Min Woo as a patient who is mentally ill but Min Woo surprisingly introduces his wife who hasn't been killed.

Ji Sook discloses herself at the press conference and she exposes all evils which he has done. The criminal has a narrow escape thanks to his wife before a police officer hauls him in. 

On the way to the airport, Mi Yeon asks him to leave their homeland for good for a fresh start, however, he refuses flatly saying he doesn't love the enemy of his sick father who was completely paralyzed due to his father-in-law. She does apologize for his father shedding tears but he shakes her hand off violently. The devoted wife lets him leave for Cuba alone wishing him every happiness.

Seok finds his wife's letter with a plane ticket at the airport just before boarding the plane and calls her to ask her to leave the country together.

Seok Hoon being present at her death is not welcomed. He cries bitter tears staring at a portrait of the deceased.

Ji Sook who is in prison exchanges letters with her husband almost every day. Seok Hoon is penitent for his sin waiting for a day when he will meet his wife in heaven.

Four years later...

The couple and their little girl live a happy life.

'Mask' Episode 19 Recap

Choi Min Woo (Ju Ji Hoon) barely saves Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae) whose house is on fire and he loses his senses lying next to her. When the brave man wakes up at a long distance from the vacation home, he finds a bloodstained piece of white cloth in the vicinity.

A detective examines the missing lady's husband who hasn't remembered what had happened when the fire broke out and he is spotted as a prime suspect in a murder. Min Woo feels a great sense of loss because he doesn't know her original plan due to his stepsister tore the letter. He asks all around but he cannot find the woman he deeply loves.

Ji Sook woke up in an unfamiliar hospital room receives a proposal from Choi Mi Yeon (Yoo In Young) to leave the country without the other families knowing about her survival.

Min Woo finds out that an arsonist was abetted by Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon) from a friend whose job is a prosecutor, however, he is arrested without a warrant on the charge of murder due to the bad man's elaborate schemes.

Being taken to the police station, Min Woo gets a call from Ji Sook who has succeeded in escape and goes to the rescue of the wife giving his pursuers the slip. He asks his friend to trace the call and finally finds out the exhausted lady. They hug each other, sharing joys.

Mi Yeon who is haunted by guilt tells the whole truth to her mother and persuades her husband to turn himself in. Seok Hoon tells her that they will never pay for their crimes and she sheds a single teardrop staring at him.       

Even though the husband tries to dissuade her, Ji Sook makes up her mind to turn herself in. Min Woo applies for medicine on the wound on her knee and passes his hand on her face to remember her face.

'Mask' Episode 18 Recap

Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae) and her family plant a tree for the dead mother with Choi Min Woo (Ju Ji Hoon). Not being able to contain her sorrow, she holds back her sobs embracing the mother's ring.

Ji Sook wants to tell the parent-in-law the truth that she is not Seo Eun Ha (Soo Ae). However, Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon) who knows his wife caused her mother to die threatens her. She tries to find out the cause of the big trouble and she asks Choi Mi Yeon (Yoo In Young) about death. 

Mi Yeon denies the charge and reaches for her hand when she is slipping and almost falling into the pool. Min Woo calls up clear remembrances when his sister didn't save the person from drowning at the sight and is tormented by the memory.

Seok Hoon takes Ji Sook's father over to an expensive boutique to tell her something bad will happen to her family unless she is obedient to him. She realizes that she cannot easily score off the field. She asks him to arrange the accident to fake her own death and settles her affairs before she disappears.

As a scandal about the rich family's private life breaks, the two couple decides to spend a few days in a summer house to play happy families just for the benefit of the presidential election of Eun Ha's father. Arriving at the holiday cottage, they drink wine. Ji Sook falls asleep due to the drugged wine during Min Woo tells his sister about the drowning accident in private. The evil man sets the house on fire.

Flames shot up from the burning house and Mi Yeon regards the scene with gloomy eyes recalling that she tore a Ji Sook's letter for her husband. Ji Sook wakes from sleep but she is choked again by the smoke. Min Woo who is struck on the head with a stick is lying on a boat in the middle of a lake. Despite a fear of water, he jumps into the water and strikes out towards the house wrapped in flames.

'Mask' Episode 17 Recap

Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae) feels much relieved after telling all secrets to Choi Min Woo (Ju Ji Hoon) and her husband accepts the unusual situation. Choi Mi Yeon (Yoo In Young) is angry because Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon) denies the charge and screams at him to get out of the house. She persuades her brother and his wife not to tell the chairman about the attempted murder asking their forgiveness and promises them that she will make him deliver himself to the police.

Min Woo socks him in the attacker's face and declares war against him who has bullied the couple for a long time. Mi Yeon puts blame on Ji Sook on for causing the repeated misfortune of the family. She pays visits to her family-run coffee shop and feels resentment because they look very happy, unlike her unhappy family.

Ji Sook sees her father watching her from a distance and rushes out calling him 'father.' Hugging each other, they share the happiness of a long-awaited reunion. Ji Sook and Min Woo look around for a house where they will live with the poor family.

Min Woo tries to find a way to throw the bad guy into prison and Ji Sook goes to visit to persuade the gunman who gave himself up to the police. Mi Yeon threatens the man so that the police would never know the real suspect. Trembling with fear, he asks Ji Sook for help and she secures a video clip as real evidence. However, Min Woo cannot give a prosecutor a USB due to an unexpected call from his sister's husband.  

Mi Yeon still loves her husband although she knows that he has done something wicked. She meets Byun Ji Hyuk (Hoya) before his mother receives a liver transplant and she places peanut powder into a glass of him who has a violent allergic reaction to nuts. 

The donor's condition worsens and his mother dies after waking up from a short period of coma. Ji Sook arrives at the hospital soon after her mother's death and cries out loud slipping her finger a ring her husband bought for his mother-in-law.

'Mask' Episode 16 Recap

Choi Min Woo (Ju Ji Hoon) asks Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae) who is the mastermind behind the plan to kill him being dubious of Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon)'s honesty. She avoids giving a definite answer because there is no hard evidence and asks him to believe her seeking a divorce to protect him.

Choi Mi Yeon (Yoo In Young) who is suspicious of her husband instigating murder gives Seok Hoon a sharp glare saying that she will fight with the gloves off if the suspect planned to kill not Ji Sook but her brother.

Ji Sook tries to be a person who decides things for herself not being under Seok Hoon's thumb. The masked woman discloses the secret about her and him to the families and asks the father-in-law's permission for their divorce because of becoming free from guilt. Seok Hoon is driven into a corner and seeks a solution to kill Min Woo as soon as possible before he is kicked out of the chaebol family.

The chairman receives another threatening letter asking for transferring 60% of his stocks to his son and he orders his son-in-law to proceed with the legal action to protect his daughter against the video clip.  

Mi Yeon lets the loan sharks force the perpetrator to confess but he keeps his mouth shut although he is beaten black and blue all over his body. She calls his husband to account inwardly praying for his innocence and he denies the fact as she wishes.

Min Woo satisfies his wife's demands and he files their divorce papers with her. They have a chance to spill their problems out to a counselor before making a final decision and they reveal their innermost feelings to the professional when they talk to her alone, recalling their pleasant memories.

Mi Yeon feels concerns about Min Woo's safety and asks him not to join a hunt meeting, However, the younger brother who doesn't want to miss an opportunity to become close with powerful figures in political and business circles goes to hunting as scheduled. The stepsister wears a troubled look and she tags along behind her husband and brother.

Seo Eun Ha (Soo Ae) is charged with embezzlement and dereliction of duty due to totally fabricated evidence by Seok Hoon. She escapes the danger by her wits and drives at a tremendous speed to save her husband. Getting to the forest before a tragic accident occurs, she pushes Min Woo down when he is shot in the shoulder.

Mi Yeon looks at her brother in bed on account of the wound with tears in her eyes recalling her husband spied on his movements and pointed a gun at him at the scene of the accident.

The couple arrives at the court to confirm the divorce after the consideration period. Min Woo takes wavering steps and calls his wife to a halt at the entrance. He says that he doesn't care what will happen to him because of her and declares his love for her. Not caring about the people, he takes her in his arms and kisses her passionately.

'Mask' Episode 15 Recap

Choi Min Woo (Ju Ji Hoon) is so shocked that he is completely speechless and Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae) is worried about her husband who doesn't come home till dawn. 

The chairman opens a parcel, including a USB and an anonymous letter, threatening him to transfer management rights from father to son.

Min Woo searches into the causes of Seo Eun Ha (Soo Ae)'s death which has reversed the fortunes of the presidential nominee's daughter and the former salesperson. He asks his step sister's husband why Eun Ha's necklace is in front of the dead woman's urn and starts to investigate him.

Ji Sook is hurt by his husband's coldness in his voice but Min Woo watches his wife secretly from a distance because he is really worried about her. She reveals her true identity to the husband and asks him not to accept his father's offer to save his life. As he ignores her appeal, she entreats his father to block her father-in-law from publishing succession handing him Eun Ha's video letter to dad and pictures of her families when she was younger to stop Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon) killing the successor.

On the day of the announcement, a man in black waits for Seok Hoon's signal to make the light that is fixed to the ceiling fall to Min Woo's head and the loan sharks eye him suspiciously. The chairman announces that he will not succeed in the management rights until his son is fully ready because of a surprise visit of his daughter-in-law's father and Seok Hoon is obviously flustered.

Right after Ji Sook officially announces that she will donate 50% of her share to lay out a foundation for poor people, Min Woo springs impulsively toward the lady and delivers her from danger just before the lights fall to the ground.

'Mask' Episode 14 Recap

Choi Mi Yeon (Yoo In Young) turns the car after Min Seok Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon) gives his wife a solemn warning about their relationship that would break up over her hasty judgment.

Choi Min Woo (Ju Ji Hoon) gazes at the innocent face of Byun Ji Sook (Soo Ae) while she sleeps so sweet and kisses her on the forehead.

The next day they are pretty happy walking down a beautiful road for everlasting love. While applying sunscreen on his neck, Ji Sook draws the heart and rub it with a long face.

Mi Yeon holds a briefing session on the interior concept for coffee shop owners and lets Ji Sook bumps into his father. The old man who is greatly surprised at the perfectly same face with his daughter pretends not to know her at the urgent request of Byun Ji Hyuk (Hoya).

The younger brother cheers her up saying he will wait for her until being back with her family. And Min Woo sides with his wife saying that there is a certain reason why she just pretended not to know her nanny's husband despite his sister's whispering campaign. 

Seok Hoon goes to the hospital to visit his father and the gray-haired old man asks him to forgive his in-laws' family and live a happy life but he swears again that he will get revenge on him.

Ji Sook visits a lawyer to divorce her husband before Seok Hoon kills him and she tries to make many good memories when she is with him.

Ji Sook gives a supporting speech for his father who will run for president. She is at a loss for words due to fabricated text on the prompter but she makes a moving speech about how deep the father's love for her recalling his real father and wins cheers. Mi Yeon brings a wry smile to her face and Ji Sook's father gulps down tears watching it on the cell phone by himself.

Ji Sook listens to Seok Hoon's private call ordering his secretary to kill the loan sharks and completely misunderstands his intentions. She who gets a call from a hospital is very anxious until she knows the husband is safe. She declares she loves him and he cannot hide his smile. 

Ji Sook says that she will make her full confession to him when he comes home after the meeting with a buyer. Min Woo finds the fingerprint identification result which his sister put between the contract and is startled at the resume of Byun Ji Sook.
