'Splendid Politics' Episode 50 Recap (The End)

Kang Joo-sun (Jo Sung-ha)'s wife gets arrested and lots of business magnates have exploited the poor people under the power of the big merchant are also judged by the law. Jo Yeo-Jeong (Kim Min-Seo) still denying reality is ordered poison as a death penalty.

Kim Ja-jeom (Jo Min-ki) bumped into Kang Joo-sun speaks in a cool tone, "Let's go together. There is the only way we can go." The criminal who had enjoyed an unparalleled level of power is offended by the remark still not forgiving him.

Princess Jeongmyeong (Lee Yeon-hee) and Hong Joo-won (Seo Kang-Joon) are in deep sorrow next to Kang In-woo (Han Joo-wan) at his last gasp. The man dying says all the way before drawing his last breath that he has been really happy to stand by the only friend and the woman to the last minute. His father in a prison sheds tears at the news of the son's death.

The day before public execution, Kim Ja-jeom tells Jeongmyeong that another Kim Ja-jeom and Kang Joo-sun will appear soon although justice has prevailed this time.
The princess states, "I agree with your word, the painful truth. I know that this world is just a splendidly vacant land and we may not change the world. However, there is hope for me to be with people fighting with us at the moment when I contend for righteousness."
Kim Ja-jeom roots for her even though he's still against her.

In another room, Kang Joo-sun also speaks to Hong Joo-won seen him personally as a friend of his son exactly like his ex-comrade. 
Hong Joo-won answers, "I know that we will fall down again fighting with another powerful person. However, we fight not to forget to stand while stumble or falling down and someone sharing the same heart will continue to fight even if we are tripped up. This is another truth I know. This is another world I believe."
He adds before leaving the prison, "Your son has never blamed you at all."
The father smiles slightly with tearful eyes thinking of his son unlike in character to the end.

Hong Joo-won and his father, who has contributed heavily to expel rebel, both turn down their promotion and come back to Byeoljocheong with the princess.
Jeongmyeong says to Hyojong (Lee Min-ho) that she will be his enemy from the moment of getting out of the room. She left him a big scroll written 'Splendid Politics' hoping him to be a wise king who will never succumb to authority and reign over people. The king is touched by the profound meaning.

Facing assassins, Kang In-woo (Han Joo-wan) thinks back on the conversation he had with Ja Kyung (Gong Myung) when he asked the guard if he ever has regretted coming to Joseon following Princess Jeongmyeong (Lee Yeon-hee) and staying by her side because of love for the woman. Ja Kyung answers that there was no choice for him and he is still happy in his choice. Before drawing his sword, Kang In-woo speaks in a low voice, "I don't regret and there was no choice for me, either."

Jeongmyeong gazes at Kim Ja-jeom (Jo Min-ki)'s face with distrust and suspicion. The former first vice-premier says that he has never been on the side of people like the princess and Gwanghae (Cha Seoung-won) because they always lose even though they do something righteous. He continues to say that, this time, the losers fighting for justice can seem to make the moment when justice prevails for just a little while.

Kang In-woo repulsed assassins except one urges the survivor to tell the truth about Kang Joo-sun (Jo Sung-ha)'s location. While the princess and her husband are very worried about their friend after the couple heard about his risky behavior, he just walks in the door with a smile as if nothing has happened. Kang In-woo appreciates Hong Joo-won (Seo Kang-Joon) who is an old friend like a real family of him promising to track down his father until he is caught. He suffers from the pain of stab wound after the friend left the place and he orders his subordinate never to tell anybody about the wound until everything will work out fine.

Forcing herself to trust the rebel in an urgent and dangerous situation, Jeongmyeong persuades King Hyojong (Lee Min-ho) to do as Kim Ja-jeom said. With Hong Joo-won and Choi Myeong-Gil (Imho), Kim Ja-jeom visits Obae, the general of Qing, waiting in Mowagwan (during the Joseon Dynasty where envoys dispatched from Ming and Qing China were received as diplomatic guests) for fact-finding. 
He confesses frankly about the secret letter which he handed over to Kang Joo-sun because he wanted to overthrow the king of Joseon by force of Qing. He adds to say that some rebellious subjects of the two countries are now forcing them to come into conflict with each other. On the side of justice, Kim gives the general advice that he has to arrest Dorgon (the royal family in the early years of Qing) who wants to take an occasion to accede to the imperial throne not attack Joseon.

Obae meets Hyojong to make sense of the strife in a safe house. Kang In-woo, who felt in his bones that his father will make desperate efforts not to be outdone, spurs his horse to save the king. Hyojong calls for the general of Qing to have a wise decision telling him about the impure intention of Kang Joo-sun.

People in the safe house are attacked unexpectedly by the rebel while the meeting of Obae and the king. Dozens of people are killed as fighting flares up and Kang In-woo arrives at the house at the moment when his father points a gun at Hong Joo-won. He is shot in the back to save him. The father is devastated looking at the son lying on the ground and the son in the friend's arms says very softly with tears in his eyes staring at his father, "Dad..."

'Splendid Politics' Episode 48 Recap

Hwajung ep 48
The chief royal secretary distributes the letter of Injo (Kim Jae-won) for punishing everyone involved in the case of conspiracy against the king. People helping Crown Prince Bongrim (Lee Min-Ho) to the throne including Princess Jeongmyeong (Lee Yeon-hee) and Hong Joo-won (Seo Kang-Joon) are deeply moved by the king's real intentions.

Kang In-woo (Han Joo-wan) orders to capture his father Kang Joo-sun (Jo Sung-ha), who has narrowly escaped from the palace to secretly be in league with Qing, alive.

Jo Yeo-Jeong (Kim Min-Seo) got arrested before she runs away from the royal palace still believes that Kang Joo-sun will help her out of difficulties but Kim Ja-jeom (Jo Min-ki) being jailed in Uigeumbu, the judiciary organ during Goryeo and Joseon dynasty, advises her to accept the situation.

Injo whose number is up lamented his folly telling Princess Jeongmyeong (Lee Yeon-hee) that he has hated himself not the princess and Jeongmyeong also asks his forgiveness for not understanding such a responsible position as a king.

Standing with Crown Prince Bongrim (Lee Min-Ho) in front of the throne for the next king, Hong Joo-won earnestly advises him to be fearful of the people whom the king has to take care of. After Injo died, Hyojong(Lee Min-Ho) just being enthroned hears the news of Joseon is in danger of being invaded by the Qing Dynasty due to a wily stratagem of Kang Joo-sun.

Kang Joo-sun escaped unharmed meets a man of Dorgon (The royal family of in the early years of Qing) who has sent troops to Joseon and he tries to expand his influence again making up a story that the new king is intending to conquer the north.

Kim Ja-jeom in Uigeumbu asking for a meeting with Jeongmyeong tells her that he has already known about Kang Joo-sun's scheme and he wants to help her to arrest him because he has realized that who is the winner. The criminal tells the princess who doesn't believe him that he doesn't want to beg for his life but wants to win even if he dies.

To avoid an armed clash between Joseon and Qing of the border, Kang In-ho keeps trying to find clues where his father hides. Ja Kyung (Gong Myung), a guard of Jeongmyeong, becomes aware of several assassins following Kang In-ho to kill him. The son of Kang Joo-sun senses that he is threatened life by his stepmother and he makes up his mind to use the bad situation to find out the position of the father. The righteous man lured the killers into a trap draws a sword against them.

'Splendid Politics' Episode 47 Recap

Princess Jeongmyeong Lee Yeon hee
Princess Jeongmyeong (Lee Yeon-hee) and Hong Joo-won (Seo Kang-Joon) make Kang Joo-sun (Jo Sung-ha) and Kim Ja-jeom (Jo Min-ki) be taken into Uigeumbu, the judiciary organ during Joseon dynasty, using their wits.

Jo Yeo-Jeong (Kim Min-Seo) in a tight situation tells King Injo (Kim Jae-won) a big lie about a court lady being killed by herself maintaining her own innocence. But Hong Joo-won says sharply that she will pay for her slander on Prince Sohyun (Baek Sung Hyun)'s death.

Kang Joo-sun who has sent a messenger with all his money to ask Qing to help him still doesn't confess himself to be guilty.

Injo whose health is in decline gives special instructions to the chief royal secretary delivering a letter of the King written about succession to the throne.

Princess Jeongmyeong Lee Yeon-hee
Kim Ryu (Park Joon-kyu), who is appointed a minister entrusted with the king´s deathbed injunctions, prevents Crown Prince Bongrim (Lee Min-Ho) from visiting his father. Bongrim and Jeongmyeong are at a loss of what to do.

Kim Ryu sees an opportunity to turn the tables on people close to the Crown Prince including Jeongmyeong and Kang Joo-sun visits Bongrim to suggest he stay by his side if he wants to be the next king.

Contrary to Kang Joo-sun's expectations, the blank letter of the king lying at death's door shocks all the people who plotted against the king. 
"I am telling you what I wanted to say in the letter. I will punish all insurgents in this room severely. This is my last order." Injo shouts in a voice filled with rage.
