Kang Joo Sun (Jo Sung Ha), who deliberately allowed Heo Gyun (Ahn Nae Sang) to run away, pursues him on the run and catches him alive. He lets the criminal behind the bars and clarifies his position in an imposing manner saying there are a lot of people who will defend him when he comes right into a dead end. However, Gwanghae scares the opponent saying Kang In Woo (Han Joo Wan) is ready to make a clean breast of his father's misdeed and wants him to stay by his side. Joo Sun is devastated to have been lied to and shat upon and leaves the King's presence.
Gawande doesn't press hard upon Heo Gyun and breaks him on the wheel to develop national strength harnessing Joo Sun's powers against Ming.
Kim Gae Shi (Kim Yeo Jin) buys a royal physician off and let him poison the Princess. He gives a bowl of poisoned herbal decoction but Jeongmyeong senses danger and doesn't drink. She pushes the doctor to reveal the truth who lets him kill her.
