Baek Seung Chan (Kim Soo Hyun), a rookie producer-director with the KBS variety division, parks a car next to a small red car in a hurry because he is late for his first attendance to the office.
Tak Ye Jin (Gong Hyo Jin), another ten-year-experienced PD who works on a Music Bank, putting on makeup in the red car scratches on the side of the expensive car as she opens the door.
The unskilled rookie expects to learn specialized knowledge through an on-the-job training program from a chief producer of the variety division, but, Seung Chan is thoroughly confused because the chief let them know something that doesn't seem very important for his job.
The CP asks Ye Jin to show the recruits how to perform a live broadcast of the music program. The veteran producer tries to contact the car owner on the phone while she gives them the direct instruction and blames the new employee who is about to check the text message and get the call without knowing who he is.
Seung Chan finds out Shin Hye Joo (Jo Yoon Hee), his first love and the reason why he became the PD, kisses Ra Joon Mo (Cha Tae Hyun) on the cheek on a screen and drops a notebook while Ye Jin explains about cameras in a control room. Ye Jin stops another staff who has a chat about their relationship pretending she doesn't know anything.
Hye Joo says hello to Seung Chan sitting on a chair in the lobby during a break. However, he is pretty disappointed again because she doesn't exactly remember about him except his name. The rookie became the producer to close to her feels quite bitter about it.
Seung Chan runs across Joon Mo, the producer-director of a reality-variety show 2 Days & 1 Night, in a toilet shakes his wet hands to make his face splashed with water.
Joon Mo visited the Korea Communications Commission because the program didn't comply with the broadcasting review regulations meets a reporter by chance and hears about the abolition of the program. He talks big, but he feels kind of icky.
Joon Mo notified of the abolition from the station manager worries how he tells cast members and his staff about the bad news.
Cindy (IU), a top singer of an idol group, stares at the CP who is about to ask her to take a photo with the station manager's daughter and her friends. The ice princess never smiles while they take the photographs.
Ye Jin asks the manager of the singer to have her change her stage costume because it doesn't meet the censorship criteria. The young girl puts her foot down and says no and the angry woman pays a visit to the waiting room. She wants to be condescending to her inferiors, but she is obviously flustered due to the celebrity saying she is going to cancel the appearance.
After letting all people out, she shows a servile attitude unlike the strong woman in front of her juniors. She walks out of the room with high attitudes saying get a jacket which the singer is going to wear and vents her anger on the innocent Seung Chan who answered her clothes is pretty in the confusion of the moment.
Cindy comes on the stage and takes off the jacket as soon as she breaks into song. Ye Jin looking at her on a monitor in the control room scowls at the rookie by way of revenge. She orders a staff to call Byun Mi Sook (Na Young Hee), CEO of Cindy's agency Byun Entertainment, tomorrow.
Joon Mo bumps into the young singer's manager buying a salad for Cindy in a convenience store and brings him to a gimbap restaurant. He lets out his pent-up anger about the CEO who gives the little girl too much work and orders gimbap and fish cake soup for Cindy.
Far from thanking him, she criticizes the manger instead of saying she should cut down on carbohydrates. Cindy wonders why the PD who doesn't like the CEO bought her the food, but she begins to eat them.
Ye Jin calls the car owner again before she leaves and she is shocked at the clumsy rookie approaches to the car answering the phone. She asks him to let her know the cost of the repair and she emphasizes that he doesn't need to pull any punches because she is the senior not spilling her guts. He receives the story credulously saying that he will let her know after he discusses with his father, the real owner of the car.
Joon Mo tells his staff about abolition. A temporary writer cries out loud and another who is unhappy about the decision calls somewhere to find a new job. The producer-director feels terrible after hearing about their pitiful situation.
Ye Jin reads an article on the internet blaming the production staff about the signer's stage costume and starts to report negative comments.
After a long day, Joon Mo and Ye Jin respectively drink Soju at the same table.
Meanwhile, Seung Chan's father holds a celebration party for his son's first day at work.
